Some events not to be missed:

Keith Urban

Friday July 10, 2015 (9:30 PM)
Bell Stage / Plains of Abraham

Keith Urban is an international country music megastar. His last five albums skyrocketed to number 1 in the U.S., Canada and Australia. In 2009, Billboard magazine named his song Somebody Like You “The greatest country music success of the decade”. Seventeen of his songs shot to number 1 on U.S. country charts. And when he’s not making music, the New Zealand artist does very well on the small screen, notably as a judge for Australia’s version of “The Voice” and “American Idol”. Need we go on? ;)

Foo Fighters

Saturday July 11, 2015 (9:30 PM)
Bell Stage / Plains of Abraham

Since the release of the single «This Is a Call» in June 1995, Dave Grohl and his gang have never looked back. Instead they’ve sold several million copies of their eight albums, filled stadiums around the world, were nominated for no less than 25 Grammys and even produced a TV series to document the recording of their latest album, Sonic Highways. Québec fans of Foo Fighters will be glad to hear that their favourite band is finally coming to party on the Plains with a repertoire that could also qualify as an anthology of the past 20 years of alternative rock: «All My Life», «Best of You», «Everlong», «My Hero», «Learn to Fly», «Big Me», «Monkey Wrench»… a show that will go down in FEQ history.

Iggy Azalea

Sunday, July 12, 2015 (9:30 PM)
Bell Stage / Plains of Abraham

The success of Iggy Azalea may seem instantaneous for many, but for the Australian artist, it’s the result of a well-orchestrated plan and an exceptional desire to succeed. She moved to the United States at the age of 16 to make her mark in hip-hop, and slowly built her reputation on the social networks before releasing her first mixes in 2011. The album The New Classic came out three years later and the meteoric rise had begun. Today, Iggy Azalea has put her stamp on a dozen singles including the mega-success «Fancy», «Black Widow» and «Problem» (by Ariana Grande), and her videos create a stir every time they come out. And she’ll only be 25 years old when she steps on FEQ’s main stage this summer!!

Boston

Monday, July 13, 2015 (9:30 PM)
Bell Stage / Plains of Abraham

There are instant successes…and then there’s Boston. The band from guess-where sold 25 million copies of its first self-titled album, 17 million in the U.S. alone! Boston’s first three albums sold a total of 28 million copies to our southern neighbours. That is why today three generations of North Americans immediately recognize “More Than a Feeling” the minute they hear the first few notes. If you thought you’d quenched your thirst for classic rock last year with Journey, this year we’re bringing you the ultimate. Boston!

Patrick Bruel

Tuesday, July 14, 2015 (9:00 PM)
Bell Stage / Plains of Abraham

How would you like to celebrate the storming of the Bastille this July 14 with one of the most famous French artists in the world? Without saying that Patrick Bruel will be wearing slippers on the Plains, it certainly won’t be the first time he’s played in front of massive frenzied crowds. But like in the almost surreal film sequences where he stirs up audiences in the biggest stadiums of France, we’re also really looking forward to singing some French pop classics in unison with the creator of Bruelmania!

The Rolling Stones

Wednesday, July 15, 2015 (9:30 PM)
Bell Stage / Plains of Abraham

The Rolling Stones. The name alone conjures up a series of images burned forever into our collective consciousness: the constant gyrations of Mick Jagger’s hips at the mike…the cool nonchalance of Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood on guitar…the equanimity of Charlie Watts behind his drums… the protruding tongue symbolizing the spirit of rebellion that galvanized English-speaking youth in the 60s and 70s with “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction”, “Gimme Shelter”, “Paint It Black”, “Sympathy For the Devil”, to name just a fraction. Believe it! These images are coming to life before your eyes on July 15. Because the biggest band in rock history is coming to Quebec City to immortalize FEQ 2015.

Iam

Thursday, July 16, 2015 (9:30 PM)
Bell Stage / Plains of Abraham

Akhenaton. Kheops. Shurik’n. Imhotep. Kephren. Five legendary rappers who, since Hexagone, have marked the history of world rap under the affirmative name IAM. First because IAM was one of the original French rap bands. Then because their classics Ombre et lumières and L’École du micro d’argent transcended genres and geographical and linguistic boundaries. Despite various solo adventures and rumours of a breakup, the Marseille band returns, maybe for the last time, to commune with their fans and confirm their relevance after over 25 years in the spotlight.

Patrick Watson

Friday, July 17, 2015 (9:30 PM)
Bell Stage / Plains of Abraham

For his fourth visit to the FEQ, Patrick Watson will have the Plains as his playground and for a few memorable hours he’ll share it with some of his friends. Frankly, we could not have made a better choice. We know how much the Montréal artist loves collaborating with other musicians - Karkwa, Cinematic Orchestra – and how well his expansive music lends itself to reinterpretation. Oh, and we’re almost forgetting that Mr. Watson and his musicians will be playing pieces from his 5th album, Love Songs for Robots. Stay tuned for the guest list!

Nickelback

Sunday, July 19, 2015 (9:30 PM)
Bell Stage / Plains of Abraham

With sales of over 50 million albums worldwide since its formation 20 years ago, Nickelback is one of Canada’s most popular groups in history. It owes its popularity to a musical style at the crossroads of hard rock, alternative rock and pop and unifying anthems. – «How You Remind Me», «Someday», «Photograph» - that transcend categories and eras. Their latest album, No Fixed Address, once again made top three on Canadian and American charts its first week out, confirming Nickelback’s prime spot on the current rock canvas.
